Its a 1080 ti with turbo

Its a 1080 ti with turbo clocks.. but with the original blower type cooling which is good for case temps. I've notice a 6 degee drop on my  air cooled 5820k. I had no idea the 980 ti open air GPU I had was dumpen that much heat in the case. That being said 1080 ti does run hotter.. maxed 84c in some games. Afterbuner got this to drop under 80c with a not too aggressive fan curve. 1080 ti starts to thermal throttle at 84c so thats good. I'm told these cards  are design to run hot like this.. cooler is alwasy better however.

It's a nice chassis, I just

It's a nice chassis, I just wish  they would have showed the whole dragon.  I have everything installed, all I have to do is try to find some cable combs  and I'm not sure if  I have any left.  I'll try to posy photos either later this evening or first thing tomorrow morning.

Oh yeah, the new ASUS  ROG  X299 Rampage 6 APEX  is now on the bench, if we have the time we would like to show overclocking results from the 7740X, 7820X, and the 7900X so keep your fingers crossed.

Any truth to the rumor that

Any truth to the rumor that the X299 chips are melting motherboards or is that just a bunch of hoopla?

X299 rumor

We have reviewed 5 - 6 X299 boards and have not had any kind of heat issues. My current  ASUS  Prime X299 Deluxe  with the 10 Core 7900X  has been running at 4.8 GHz on all 10  Cores using a 360mm AIO  and I haven't had any heat problems at all  and that system runs between 14- 18 hours a day, with two GTX 1080 OC cards and 64GB's  DDR4 Quad Channel  3000MHz

Okay thank you. I found it

Okay thank you. I found it kinda hard to believe but there have been issues with heat in the past with both manufactures as I understand it so I thought I would ask.

I just love how people are willing to do for others on this site.

I suppose that you'd also be willing to test out my new 7900X CPU and board?

Core Count Counts!

Maybe more?

Could you save these two Planks from having to suffer with me?

I think that you'd have a blast picking through my spare parts shelves. Smile

No, I am simply not technical enough for that particular task, thanks for thinking of me though. Wink

DHL dropped off this package from MSI

Hi guuys, DHL dropped off a package from MSI this past Saturday afternoon  that had their new GTX 1080Ti GamingX Trio video card.

Here's a couple of photos:

Next photo shows the ASUS Strix 1080TI OC   next to the MSI card, this way you can see the difference in size

Two more photos of the Trio

I want one of those ASUS

I want one of those ASUS Strix 1080TI OC so bad but have to keep fixing the GF's vehicle and it is killing my money. My birthday is in January maybe by then but then I will have to save up for a monitor to really enjoy the performance of the card. I hate GM products!
