For starters, I usually use Hardware Monitor to monitor temps when doing reviews. However, there was a massive discrepancy between Hardware monitor and everything else. So, this time I used MSI Afterburner to monitor temperature and clock speed. With any GPU testing, I do my best to keep the ambient temperature the same. For this round of tests, the ambient temperature was 22°C, or about 72°F. Idle temp on the KOMODO full cover water block was 31°C. Under load, the temperature maxed out at 57°C. With the 1080 Ti Founder’s Edition cooler, the card idled at 52°C. Under, the reference cooler hit a toasty 81°F.
On air, the Founder’s Edition 1080 Ti hit a max temp of 81°C. However, with the KMODO full cover water block, the card hit a max temp of 57°C.Thats a 24°C difference.
There was a 21°C difference between air and water on the idle temp.
