System Configuration & Testing

GIGABYTE AORUS Z270X Gaming 5 ATX Motherboard

On this test bench, the 7700K was cooled by the Swiftech H320 X2 Prestige edition.

All performance testing was done with the Kaby Lake i7 7700K @ 5.0 GHz, and the ASUS STRIX GTX 1070 at its stock clock. However, due to GPU Boost 3.0, my STRIX 1070 was boosting as high as 2025 MHz from its stock clock of 1657 on OC mode. I had 16 GB of G. Skill RipJaws 4 at its stock speeds of 2400 MHz running in XMP mode. All games were tested in 1920 x 1080, 2560 x 1440 and 3820 x 2160 resolutions and their max settings.
