For some reason the system got really low scores in PC Mark Vantage. I suspect the Skylake chips aren't optimized for such benchmark, likely due to the age of this benchmark as well. But PC Mark 7 did provide a reasonable result.
Super PI is a single threaded benchmark that calculates pi to a specific number of digits. It uses the Gauss-Legendre algorithm and is a Windows port of a program used by Yasumasa Kanada in 1995 to compute pi to 232 digits.
Clearly, the 100mhz short of 4.0Ghz gave a significant different between the i5-6600k used in this review versus my old i5-4670k paired with a Z97 board. Certainly if you want to overclock all the way, better pick a Z170 but if this would suffice your gaming needs, the B150M Mortar will work just fine.
"CINEBENCH is a real-world cross platform test suite that evaluates your computer's performance capabilities. CINEBENCH is based on MAXON's award-winning animation software CINEMA 4D, which is used extensively by studios and production houses worldwide for 3D content creation. MAXON software has been used in blockbuster movies such as Iron Man 3, Oblivion, Life of Pi or Prometheus and many more.
CINEBENCH is the perfect tool to compare CPU and graphics performance across various systems and platforms (Windows and OS X). And best of all: It's completely free."
MaxxMEM 2 Is the little brother of MaxxPI², it contains the same memory benchmark routine as MaxxPI² does. So your reached results will be comparable to Memory / Latency benchmarks done by MaxxPI².
ATTO Disk Benchmark
As the industry's leading provider of high-performance storage & network connectivity products, ATTO has created a widely-accepted Disk Benchmark freeware utility to help measure storage system performance. As one of the top tools utilized in the industry, Disk Benchmark identifies performance in hard drives, solid state drives, RAID arrays as well as connections to storage. Top drive manufacturers, like Hitachi, build and test every drive using the ATTO Disk Benchmark.
Unigine Heaven 3.0
Heaven Benchmark with its current version 4.0 is a GPU-intensive benchmark that hammers graphics cards to the limits. This powerful tool can be effectively used to determine the stability of a GPU under extremely stressful conditions, as well as check the cooling system's potential under maximum heat output. It provides completely unbiased results and generates true in-game rendering workloads across all platforms, such as Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
Unigine Valley 1.0
Valley Benchmark is a new GPU stress-testing tool from the developers of the very popular and highly acclaimed Heaven Benchmark. The forest-covered valley surrounded by vast mountains amazes with its scale from a bird’s-eye view and is extremely detailed down to every leaf and flower petal. This non-synthetic benchmark powered by the state-of-the art UNIGINE Engine showcases a comprehensive set of cutting-edge graphics technologies with a dynamic environment and fully interactive modes available to the end user.
For some reason, the B150M Mortar system yields better benchmark scores for graphics tests using the same graphics card. Note that I've used the same NVIDIA graphics driver version in all tests. Likely the new generation PCIe controller is simply more efficient.
Now let's wrap up this review on the next page.
