Packaging & Unboxing
The front of MSI’s X299 Tomahawk Arctic shares the boards same icy light-colored theme with most of the box taken up with a full-color picture of the board.
Is the back just as colorful? Monochrome? Either way, the actual board graces the center of the box while specs and rear I/O diagram anchor the bottom area. The stand out features are highlighted down both sides.
Short of some basic specs in many languages on one edge, the other 3 sides sport only the MSI logo and model.
Once you open the box, you are immediately greeted with the board laying in the top tray wrapped in an anti-static bag.
Under the motherboard tray is all the goodies that come with this board.
The includes goodies are basic but cover most needs. Besides the typical manual, driver disk, rear I/O shield and SATA cables, you get a quick install guide, a memory installation guide, a thank you card from MSI, some cable label stickers, a High Bandwidth type SLI bridge, and a nice metal MSI Dragon Case Badge.
