Game Testing

There were 8 games tested. A mix of newer Titles and a few older ones, but no older than 2013.They were tested in 1080p, 1440p, 3440 x 1440 and 4k. All games were played at their max settings. They were left at their stock settings. Each benchmark run was timed at 120 seconds, ran three times each, then averaged out to get the final results.

  • Battlefield One
  • Crysis 3
  • Grand Theft Auto: V
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Shadow of Mordor
  • Thief
  • Watch Dogs 2
  • The Witcher 3

The Strix 1080 Ti is overkill for 1080p gaming. All games stayed over 60 fps with the lowest frame rate being Watch Dogs 2. Shadow of Mordor is showing its age with an average of 174 FPS maxed out in 1080p.

Watch Dogs 2 was the only game that fell below 60 fps in 1440p.

The Strix 1080 Ti did excellent on the 3440 x 1440p ultra wide. Again, Watch Dogs 2 proved to be the most demanding game in my suite of games. It averaged 50 FPS maxed out in 3440 x 1440p. The only other game to average less than 60 fps was GTA: V that averaged 57 fps.

The Strix 1080 Ti did very well in 4k. 4 of the 8 games I tested stayed over 60 fps, the best being Shadow of Mordor with an average of 70 FOS, the Battlefield 1 with 68 fps. The lowest average was again Watch Dogs 2 with only 39 fps. But, all games stayed over 30 fps.
