EVGA engineers came up with the ICX Cooling Technology the most innovative cooling solution we’ve seen to date, ICX provides 9 thermal sensors on Memory, GPU Core, and VRM circuits so you can monitor every important part of your video card. Prior to ICX EVGA got a bad rap for thermal component failure and it was later discovered that EVGA’s component failure was no higher than the industry standard for all manufacturers. Unlike other manufacturers, EVGA stepped up and offered free thermal pads and designed ICX and that shows the true heart of by gamers for gamers. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again over engineering is highly underrated and EVGA is the best at over engineering and the top seller of video cards worldwide and Nvidias’ largest video card partner.
The ICX cooling solution had 9 thermal sensors that easily accessed through EVGA Precision XOC giving you more information about the thermal status of the video card than ever before.
The fan controls on the ICX cooling solution gives you asynchronous (separate) control of the GPU fans and you can control the fan curve on each separately using Precision XOC.
Normally video cards are controlled by one sensor on the GPU core, with 9 sensors and LED indicators on the top of the video card with a simple glance at your EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB FTW2 GAMING.
The ICX cooling adjustments can easily be controlled by EVGA Precision XOC and as mentioned can control fans simultaneously or asynchronously.
To prevent catastrophic failure EVGA implanted a Peace of Mind fuse that will blow if too much voltage surges through the card, you may have to RMA your card to have the fuse replaced but it will prevent 6 foot under pushing daisies death.
EVGA further innovates by including raised pins on the base plate that intrude on the heat sink; those raised pins add extra surface area to release heat from further increasing the cooling properties of the EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB FTW2 GAMING.
EVGA engineers every single component for maximum performance and overclocking. Recently Nvidia implemented this power pool scheme where the maximum voltage a Pascal card can draw is limited. EVGA said, “Hey let's build double ball bearing fans that use less energy and have a 4x lifespan compared to other fans giving the card a larger overclocking voltage pool.”
