In general, Stardew Valley is a very chill, very mellow, very calm, and very peaceful game. One can even go as far as saying that it is THE MOST relaxing game to ever adorn the gaming world. The simple tasks of hoeing land, planting seeds, cutting grass, and chopping wood are all incredibly enjoyable, as taxing as they may be (for your character)

But then again, if you’ve been trying to attain the highest level for every skill in the game like me, you’d immediately realize that not everything is as easy and as unstressful as other tasks. 

Yes, I’m talking about the damningly hard task of catching fish. Fishing, in itself, is already difficult and complicated. However, things can get even more challenging when you have to find a particular fish to accomplish a quest for Demetrius or Willy. 

Still, like any other hurdle in any other game (and in life), fishing is something you can learn to be good at (eventually, right?). To help you in your pursuit, here’s a Chub Stardew Valley fishing guide for you!

CHUB STARDEW VALLEY: MUST-KNOWS

Residing in the Cindersap Forest River just below your farm and in the mountain lake near the mine, the chub is a common freshwater fish known for its voracious appetite. This fish can be caught during all seasons at any time of the day, the only catch (see what I did there) is it cannot be caught in Pelican Town. Thankfully it can randomly appear in Krobus’ shop on Wednesdays or at the Traveling Cart. Just be ready with your gold ‘cause it can cost you from 200 to 1,000 gold.

If I were to receive a fish that’s been personally caught by the giver himself, as a gift, I would be beyond delighted. But then, not everyone is like me. There are people who wouldn’t even be able to fake a courteous reply when getting a present like that. You’d find people like that in Stardew Valley as well, so make sure to give Chub to the right people only.

CHUB STARDEW VALLEY: BUNDLES AND RECIPES

Aside from achieving the highest possible level for every skill, one of the personal quests you can embark on while residing in Stardew Valley is completing the mysterious Community Center. To do just that you have to put together a variety of bundles. One of those bundles would be the Field Research Bundle. This bundle requires a purple mushroom, a nautilus shell, a frozen geode, and a chub. Once you’ve accomplished it, you will be rewarded with a Recycling Machine. 

If you’ve got a few chubs with you, you can also try making a meal out of it or making other things. If you combine it with some seaweed and some rice, you will end up with a Maki Roll that provides 100 Energy and 45 Health. If you like going even simpler, you can just eat Chub as is as a Sashimi. You will gain 75 Energy and 33 Health by eating it. 

Chub mixed with 2 Saps will leave you with a Quality Fertilizer that improves soil quality and heightened your chances of yielding quality crops. This fish can also be used in the spool of the Sewing Machine, so you can have a Fishing Vest.
