My first build idea and opinions?

Well this will be my first dive into gaming pc builds. I have done a lot of work on workstations and office computers in the past. I have a parts list that I gathered up and was wanting some opinions. I was trying to keep the cost low where I can for now but leave the room to upgrade later.

Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 White (have this)
Mainboard: MSI Z77A GD60
CPU: i7 3770K 3.5ghz (3.8 turbo)
Video: GTX560 (not sure which brand I'm going to use yet.)
PSU: Corsair GS800
Memory: Dominator® with DHX Pro Connector and Airflow II Fan — 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit

Thats what I have come up with so far. Still need to decide on what drives I want to use and cooling. I want to try and keep costs low as I can.

MSO, are you building this using all new parts or are you willing to buy used? Getting used parts means sometimes being able to buy faster parts and in many cases the warranties are still intact.

The parts you picked are all very good. Maybe try and find an used higher end card like the GTX570/580 or Radeon HD 6970.

Also, check out the Samsung ram everyone is screaming over. Someone posted some O'C numbers in our memory forum.

For cooling I like the AIO water-coolers. I am currently running the H100 from Corsair but testing the TT Extreme now.

For drives, solid states are becoming affordable. And so many to pick from. Most like the Crucial, Samsung and Intel. I have used several and like them all.

In the works. But it will be small.

the gtx 660ti if compared to a used 570/580 would be a bit cheaper and apparently outperforms them both.
I recommend looking at Zotac, I love their GPU's =) also really amazing community, and I always help them out if I can. So im sure me or someone at Zotac could figure out if you have a problem.

Regarding a motherboard and processor, why ivy bridge? Sandybridge overclocking is better Still ive seen.

Also MSI lately has been bad ive heard, it seems they are more focused on their laptops these days. I could be wrong and people just randomly badmouthing but thought Id say if you can find positive reviews on the board.

Regarding a Cooler, The TT Extreme, even Performance out performs the h100 =) Im positive on that.

Memory all up to what you want as timings vs latency these days is rediculusly far apart, i got 16gb of ddr3 1600mhz for around 120$ with XMP Profile of 8-8-8-24 (retardedly low right?) from gskill.

Regarding a SSD/HDD Always stick to Western Digital IMO Ive yet to have 1 of my 20 harddrives from even wayyyyy back in the day fail on me yet. They just get a little annoying regarding mechanical drives lately but performance and reliability is too good to care.
As for SSD, If time comes, Check out Runcore, They are coming to the Consumer market, and they have AMAZING SSD's performance and all that.
If you cant wait which I dont know how soon till they are, Get ADATA as well They have awesome SSD's.

mobo msi? you gonna run a nice micro why you don't go for a EVGA FTW or a Asus rog or Gigabyte killer and with the video card i always i like to buy the same brand with the mobo the way that mach with everything, look for performance but also look for clean looking Rig
