Be Quiet! Silent Wings 2 140mm Fan Review

Cooling fans are constantly evolving. Companies are striving to make their fans quieter while increasing airflow all the time. Over time computer fans have increased from 80mm to 92mm to 120mm and what is now becoming much more popular are the 140mm sizes. Our friends over at be quiet! Have recently released their new Silent Wings 2 fans and were kind enough to send us over a pair of 140mm versions to check out..

Looks nice. The picture at the bottom of Page 4 is wrong though, it's the full view of the accessories, not the one with the mounts attached to the fan.

Wonder how well they'll hold up over the long term. I have terrible luck with fans getting noisy 8 months to a year after they've been in use. Recently a couple of Enermax Magma's have started with the noise no matter how clean I get them :(

Keep up the good work Mike, I just received notice, that UPS should be dropping off several packages Monday, close to 50lbs, so that's a lot of samples.

Thanks for a great review, pictures were awesome. I do like this fan but not really sure about the mounting.
