Posting for the sake of posting

Some new members are just posting air.. Nothing that contributes to the community whatsoever. Perhaps just doing the "3 posts" rule to consider them active? That's not fun at all.. Thumbs down to you guys doing that. You're still a PASSIVE member in my opinion.

I understand your rant. But that is how things go. People come for the gifts and some do manage to stay around afterwards to help contribute to the community. For those that move on, well that is fine. I'm not mad at them.

I knew this could be the case going into the contest. Just a chance I had to take. Had to start somewhere. But I will tell you now there will be things happening that will be only for the regulars.Trust me I am not going to let all these review samples stack up.

In the works. But it will be small.

You are welcome to send me every review sample for me to make my own house with and live in a computer hah.

But I must agree with TDUB.
Thats why we are going to discuss after this maybe on some plans, but remember guys, contests that are TOO complicated can annoy people as well and in the end lose people just in general.

I do write articles about some tech stuff, researching them online. Posting them in article directories. Was blogging before but stopped due to work. Yeah contests do that too hahahaha.

Oh look this is my first post! my account has been activated a while ago.. and I saw this post. lols..

I think, there's nothing wrong with people who just post 3 times for the sake of the contest, maybe in time they will contribute something.. or maybe they really have nothing to say so they just read instead..

Their time to post something will come, not all who registered here has the knowledge to contribute something, maybe some of them are here to start learning.

Not posting anything doesn't mean you're not active, maybe some are just active readers.

Don't worry I do get your point :)

Thank you ProClockers for activating my account :D

Yes I do understand that point of view. Not posting doesn't mean inactivity as well.. But it's better not to post something rather than post NON-SENSE.. it's like spamming... unnecessary thread bumps... not really good.

Oh, now I see your point.. well if it's really something to be considered as spam, well that really is not good. But "bumping" a thread once in a while, well.. I think that's tolerable :D

I met Tony at work, heard about his website and wanted to support the cause. I know people post to get into the contest and the sad truth is that it happens. Regulars is what makes this community what it is and the growth of this is going to be a good one.

Yeah. I totally agree with you. :) I hope we get more active members here, not just "free-riders" or worse... spammers..

I see some that are really interacting, expressing thoughts about common interests and sharing knowledge, asking for help. Those are the people that really makes a forum community fun.

I have noticed this happening a lot. Granted it was the giveaways thar brought me here but I stick around because I like the community and reviews. I like the idea of having the giveaways going to people the have been active for the 2 weeks prior to a giveaway or have a min post amount of like 25/50 before the contest starting date for big things like motherboards and video cards. just mt 2 cents.

Community, good info/debates and plentiful reviews keeps me around. Yes, I came here for Week 1 contest, but plan to stick around for the reviews and talks. It's nice to have a place to talk to people about stuff with a good give and take while keeping it sociable.

LOL Just noticed I'm at 61 posts, which isn't the most, but not bad since I came here at the Week 1 contest, well over the 3 posts a week for the contests :D

Yeah, members that stay and share information is what's important which keeps a forum alive. I see a lot of dead tech forums everywhere (if you do find them).

By the way, there are mail spammers here LOL. Can't believe these spammers would actually send each member a message containing spam links LOL. This forum got good anti-spam security. Really nice. :)

You must have misunderstood what I am saying. I am saying that as a compliment. Ohh yeah and let me emphasize that for you. Last time I checked the dictionary, "nice" means positive. The guys here dedicate time and effort to check every new member that enters here. I doubt you read the entire thread here. Aren't you the one making wasting the effort of the guys contributing to this forum.

somehow my IP address was banned a while ago..
I use a dynamic IP address. well I know that spammers lurk in these IP address since this is not the first time I got banned from a tech site's forum. I do understand why they would want to bad such IP addresses.. I wish I could get something else but this is what I got :(
