Corsair VS650 - 650W PSU Not Good??

Okie guys so i'm kind of having some strange trouble with my PC (i suspect my PSU and GPU). First of all lemme list my Specs:

CPU: Intel i5-4570

Mobo: Asus H97M-E

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GBx1 1600MHz

PSU: Corsair VS650

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

GPU: MSI R9 280x

I wanted to know if my PSU (i know it's old model) is sufficient for the above specs? The thing is, my GPU keeps crashing while playing games, usually when on high settings/resolution, just goes blank, and cracking sound then shutdowns/restart. I didn't had any issue like this before i installed the GPU, was fine on iGPU. So after having long chats with a few friends, we've came to a conclusion that either the PSU is not powerful enough to provide enough juice, or either the GPU is bad.

Thought??

Mod, move the post in other category if needed, couldn't find a suitable one.

that should be plenty of

that should be plenty of power for a single card.  I would check graphic drivers and you are try running a couple of GPU testing programs to see if you can verify that it is the graphics card

Tried 13.12, 14.4, 14.7 beta. Crashes on all of them. Updated the vbios to the latest, helped in increasing the cooling performance, but still there are crashes.

Well just an example to verify, i played Dead space 3 on my iGPU and the R9 280X, the system keeps crashing while on R9 280x, but was a smooth gameplay with my iGPU. Same with BF3.

Re:

Old topic, but problem is psu, not the amps or W, but the voltage fluctuation, also the card may be a bit damage because of it, I rma one because crash, black screen, but second card that arived still restarted in games, no crash, sound stuck this time but still pc restarted in some game. I changed my vs650 with a gold psu & problem gone.
