Major update: Tier list is updated and separated for each lane. We also added SS- Tier and the heroes’  details and abilities under this tier.

For those of you who don’t know (shame on you!), League of Legends (LoL) is the bestest (I know, I know, that’s technically not a word but in this case, it is—don’t argue) multiplayer online battle arena game in THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. And no, my mind cannot be changed, and here’s why.

Developed by Riot Games in 2009, LoL successfully grew into the world’s largest e-sport with an impressive international competitive scene composed of countless leagues (with LEC, LCS, LCK, LPL being the major ones) that usually have their own minor leagues. Now, I’d like you to take a minute to imagine just how big this annual event is. If we look back at the 2019 League of Legends World Championship, you’d see that it has a whopping 100 million unique viewers, peaking at a concurrent viewership of 44 million. Pretty impressive right?

The demand for this kick-ass game is so immense that Riot Games had to launch a mobile version as well as a handful of spin-offs. As expected, all of them have been well-received by the public. League of Legends: Wild Rift has been downloaded more than 38 million times despite being launched just last year. Teamfight Tactics, the auto-chess game, has more than 33 million players each month and has been played for more than 2.5 billion hours. Legends of Runeterra, the collectible card game, has already garnered 14.2 million unique players.

Without a doubt, League of Legends is indeed a top-tier game that has undeniable influence way beyond its genre. That said, it isn’t a surprise that this game also has an impeccable roster of characters that begs to be grouped into tiers – especially with the newest patch (which we will discuss in detail later on).

All that said, let us now proceed to the main event: The Ultimate LoL Tier List.

One of the things that make LoL really really engaging as a game is that players can choose from five different roles. Because of this, I think that it only makes sense for us to dissect our ultimate Lol Tier List based on these five equally amazing roles before grouping the characters again based on their tier. (If by any chance, you are still yet to be blessed with the life-changing experience of playing this wonderful wonderful game, I will briefly talk about the gameplay later on so stay tuned.)

Okay, now that everything is set let us start.

Welcome to our LOL Tier List: Top Lane Champions. Most Top Lane Champions are Tanky Melee Bruiser, or AP Carry with lots of CC or Utility. In layman’s terms, melee champs are those whose role is to either initiate fights and soak up the initial damage and CC or get in the opponent to zone him out.
