Toshiba Corporation, more commonly known as Toshiba, is a multinational conglomerate of companies selling a wide range of products and services around the world. Toshiba was founded in 1939 in Tokyo, Japan through a merger with Shibaura Seisakusho. Shibaura Seisakusho was originally founded in July of 1875 as Tanaka Seisakusho, Japan’s first manufacturer of telegraph equipment, by Tanaka Hisashige. Toshiba has since gone through many branding changes and mergers to become what is now known as the Toshiba Corporation.
Toshiba is most known in the consumer PC business for their laptops, tablets, and their storage devices such as internal Hard Drives and external Hard Drives including SSDs and NMMe drives. In the enterprise PC business they are most known for their enterprise SSD storage solutions, printing and document solutions, power management solutions, and large digital commerical displays. Outside of the PC business Toshiba is also involved in several other industuries including Industrial, Power and Energy, Retail POS Systems, and Semiconductor manufacturing.
