Cooler Master Surpasses Kickstarter Goal by Over 175%

LOS ANGELES, CALIF., November 27, 2018 - Cooler Master, a global leader in designing and manufacturing innovative gaming peripherals and computer components, surpasses ControlPad Kickstarter goal by over 175%. Having launched on October 11, 2018, ControlPad reached its goal of $50,000 USD within 72 hours on the crowd-funding platform. ControlPad Kickstarter campaign raised $94,625 USD from a total of 1,072 “backers.”

“We’re really excited that this pet project of ours got fully supported and it’s great that a lot of people also see potential in the technology” says Bryant Nguyen, Peripheral General Manager. “Launching on Kickstarter allowed us to quickly connect with a wider audience, engage with different communities, and receive feedback on how we can tailor the product and software to meet their needs.”

ControlPad is the world’s first PC keypad with pressure sensitive technology designed for content creators, gamers, and musicians.

Stretch Goals

Since surpassing its initial goal so quickly, Cooler Master implemented three stretch goals in order to add more value to ControlPad. Cooler Master also added an array of new pledging options once the goal was met. After $75,000, Cooler Master provides the option for backers to choose a color for the brushed aluminum cover from silver, gunmetal gray, and midnight black. The tech company did not reach its last two stretch goals, number three being the inclusion of a removable Type-C cable on ControlPad; However, Cooler Master may still be incorporating it despite not reaching this stretch goal.

ControlPad harbors 24 mechanical keys available in either Cherry MX Red or Gateron Red switch types. It is fully programmable through easy to use software, has a removable wrist rest for ultimate comfort, two precision scroll wheels, fully RGB backlit, and finished in a sleek brushed aluminum. ControlPad is equipped with Aimpad™ technology that provides mechanical keyboards the precision control most commonly found in devices such as aviation joysticks, steering wheels, and gaming controllers, enabling analog control in digital inputs.

ControlPad is set to make its way into backers hands in May 2019. As Cooler Master continues to make improvements the exact date will be announced at a later time.
