ORIGIN PC Announces New EVO15-S Gaming Laptop Powered By Intel Core 10th Gen CPU

ORIGIN PC aims to deliver power and a lightweight gaming laptop through the all-new EVO15-S gaming laptop

ORIGIN PC has updated their EVO15-S Gaming Laptop after two years of waiting and have just announced the addition of a new EVO15-S model with two options in terms of display – either an OLED screen with 4K resolution or a 1080p screen with 240Hz-144Hz refresh rate.

“It’s truly a force to be reckoned with for gamers and professionals to rule the galaxy.” – ORIGIN PC CEO

Here are the specifications announced in the press release from ORIGIN PC:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 10875H
  • Display: 15.6 inches (narrow bezel display)
  • Resolution: 60Hz OLED (4K), 240Hz LCD (1080p), or 144Hz LCD (1080p)
  • GPU: Up to a GeForce RTX 2080- Super (with Max-Q design)
  • RAM: Up to 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR4-3200 MHz
  • Storage: Up to 2 x 2TB m.2 PCIe SSDs
  • Wireless: Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) + Bluetooth
  • Ports: 3 x USB 3.2 Gen1, 1 x Thunderbolt 3, 1 x mini DisplayPort 1.3, 1 x HDMI, 1 x GbE LAN, microSD Push-Push card reader
  • Other Features: Sound Blaster™ Atlas, Full RGB per key backlit keyboard

ORIGIN PC CEO and co-founder Kevin Wasielewski stated that the new EVO15-S is a definite improvement over its predecessor since it comes “equipped with next gen technology, it has improved battery life, and the best screen ORIGIN PC has ever offered.”

The new EVO15-S gaming laptop starts at $1,949, for the 144Hz display option, GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, 8GB of DDR4-2400 RAM, and a 240GB NVMe SSD. For a 4K OLED display, the price is $181 more, and with a 2080 Super GPU, the price tag goes up again, adding $679. However, bundling the 240Hx LCD option with the 2080 Super GPU, you reach a better price tag (at around $2,500).

What we like about ORIGIN PC is that if you choose to go from 8 GB RAM to 16 GB RAM, you only pay $16 more. Going for the 32GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (Corsair Vengeance), you’ll only have to pay $72 more than the starting price, which is not bad at all.

A $2,000+ laptop is clearly not a bargain, especially since laptops featuring AMD’s Ryzen 4000 series are slowly showing up on the market.
