Our Nexus Blitz Tier List will look at League of Legends’ well-loved experimental mode, Nexus Blitz.
Nexus Blitz was an experimental game mode of League of Legends ( Please also check out our LoL Tier List!) that was first released in 2018 for a couple of weeks. Due to the positive response of its players, the developers revived it for its second run in 2019. However, data shows that its playtime has dropped heavily by the end of its second run. So, Riot Games finally pulled the mode.
Here’s the thing, despite these, many fans of the game mode were adamant in pushing the developers to bring back Nexus Blitz—which the Riot Games has generously granted. In 2020, Nexus Blitz was brought back for a limited time, packed with few changes that made the whole mode a lot more exciting.
But before we dive into the changes in the mode’s recent run, let’s rank the champions and see who is worth our time.
NEXUS BLITZ TIER LIST
The cream of the crop! These champions pack an all-around power that will guarantee you a devastating win. With their high mobility, crowd control, and burst damage, you’ll never find yourself in a tight spot.
- Aurelion Sol
Going to our A-Tier, these champions still pack a punch compared to the previous champions. Together with your team members, these champions will let you surpass any hurdle within the match.
These champions are not necessarily strong on their own, but they’re still helpful to make the team tight and powerful. Learning these champions’ skills is a must to maximize them in the battle.
- Dr. Mundo
- Miss Fortune
Now, these champions are slightly below the average. Choosing any of these will make winning a game way harder. But if you’re only up for the experience, then no problem picking any of these champions!
- Xin Zhao
If you won a game with a champion from the previous tier, you must be lucky. But the champions in this tier are nowhere near great. Some might have flashy abilities, but their overall stats are not worth the risk.
- Jarvan IV
- Master Yi
- Twisted Fate
There are many more champions, but they fall either on E-Tier or, worse, the F-Tier. So, if you can’t find them here, it’s probably for the best. Choose better champions (*coughs* those in the S-tier *coughs*)!
NEXUS BLITZ TIER LIST: EVENTS AND REWARDS
Every game on Nexus Blitz lasts for around 15-18 minutes, and in every 3 minutes, a random event will commence. With two new events, there are 13 events in this mode.
|Bardle Royale (Classic)||The opposing teams will fight for survival inside the battle royal circle. Those who will be outside the circle will get burned to death.|
|Bardle Royale (Paranoia)||Every player gets a nearsighted debuff that allows them only to see what’s close by. Being true with the Bardle Royale fashion; teams will fight for survival.|
|Bardle Royale (Juggernaut)||Another Bardle Royale but a random champion gains a massive amount of health and the On Fire! Buff at the start of the event.|
|URF Deathmatch||A deathmatch, and everyone has URF cooldown. To win this event, one team must defeat the other twice.|
|Loot Teemo||A Loot Teemo spawns randomly on the map. Each hit on the Loot Teemo gives back gold, and the last team that hits Teemo wins the event.|
|Loot Veigar||A Loot Veigar spawns randomly on the map, using Dark Matter and Event Horizon to fight back players. Each hit on the Loot Veigar gives back gold, and the last team that hits Teemo wins the event.|
|Push the Cart (Classic)||A cart spawns on the map, which players can use to barge against their opponent’s structure.|
|Push the Cart (Attack/Defend)||Both teams will have a cart that they can use to destroy each other’s structure. The first team to destroy the other’s structure wins.|
|Prize Fight||Both teams will fight at the center of the map in either a 1v1 or 2v2 match.|
|King of the Hill||A particular area of the map becomes “the hill”; the team that holds the position for a time wins.|
|Scuttle Racing||Both teams will have Rift Scuttlers, which they will use to race down a track from the top to the bottom lane.|

|[NEW] DPS Check||Each team has to outdo their opponent’s damage on the Teemo dummy.|
Of course, winning an event will grant the victorious team a temporary or permanent buff. There’s a total of 10 rewards, and getting any of them can drastically change the game’s outcome.
|Catapult of Champions||A permanent buff with a cannon near the team’s fountain. It deals damage and launches champions anywhere on the map.|
|Blessing of Blitzcrank||A permanent buff that allows allied turrets, cannon, and super minions to Rocket Grab nearby enemies.|
|Poro King||The Poro King spawns and aids your team by breathing fire on enemies and healing nearby allies from time to time.|

|Cloud Soul||For 3 minutes, the team gets a massive out-of-combat movement speed and CDR on their ultimate.|
|Ocean Soul||For 3 minutes, health and mana are restored.|
