The story begins with the specially-designed LEDs used on these LED strips. Dubbed WideBeam™, these LEDs are not only some of the brightest available, but also feature a beam angle that is up to fifty percent wider than conventional LEDs for a more even lighting effect. With WideBeam LEDs, you can be sure that your prized components are lit evenly and beautifully.
Modern PC cases are being made from a wide variety of materials, which means one adhesive doesn’t fit all. To address this, WideBeam LED Strips come in two series – Magnetic and Foam.
Designed for cases made out of steel, the WideBeam Magnetic Series have several rare earth magnets underneath the waterproof resin. These magnets are super strong, but being magnetic, repositioning these strips inside your case or to another system is easily accomplished. Featuring six large magnets in a single 30cm strip, you can be sure of a secure fit.
For users with non-magnetic cases like aluminum, or for those who prefer more permanent adhesion, there’s the WideBeam Foam Series. This series of LED strips feature a specially formulated foam adhesive that is over 200% stronger than the adhesive found on traditional LED strips. Gone are the days were your LED strips start drooping inside your case once the action heats up – WideBeam Foam Series is designed to stay right where you put them.
Part of the reason to install LED strips is to customize your system your way. To that end, CableMod WideBeam LEDs are available not only in a wide variety of colors like red, green, blue, and white, but also in UV – ideal for highlighting your UV reactive components. And for those who want to select from a range of colors, these LED strips also come in RGB, complete with convenient IR receiver and remote control. CableMod RGB LED Strips also come with a special adapter that allows them to work perfectly with ASUS® motherboards that feature an RGB header, like the ROG Maximus VIII Formula.
In the age of modern power supplies, there no reason to stick with outdated connectors. WideBeam LED Strips come with a SATA power connector. Not only easier to connect than the traditional 4-pin Molex connector, this power connector is also more secure to ensure that things don’t go dark because of a loose connection.
Lastly, CableMod WideBeam LED Strips are also fully chainable, which adds outstanding flexibility for linking several LED strips together – perfect for larger cases.
