QNAP Releases Qvideo Mobile App for Video Access, Management, and Sharing on the Turbo NAS

QNAP Releases Qvideo Mobile App for Video Access, Management, and Sharing on the Turbo NAS

Taipei, Taiwan, October 8, 2014 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. today announced the release of Qvideo for Android™, providing Turbo NAS users with a free remote management app for video archiving, streaming, sharing, and more.

Qvideo allows users to play and manage the video collection on their Turbo NAS from their Android devices at anytime. Users can choose from various connection methods that best suits their Internet environment to browse/search their videos via timeline, thumbnails, list and folders. Videos can also be neatly organized by category, tag, rating, or labels, making video archiving and searching easier and more efficient.

With Qvideo, users can stream & download videos for playback on their Android device and also directly upload videos taken by their device to a Turbo NAS. Qvideo makes video sharing easy and convenient by allowing users to create video links they can share via email, message, and social networks.

“An increasing number of people are using mobile devices as their movie player of choice, but due to mobile devices having limited storage it is difficult to carry a sizeable video collection,” said Willy Kuo, product manager of QNAP. “With Qvideo, users can enjoy their favorite videos anytime, anywhere without worrying about their device’s storage space and also easily share their favorite videos with friends and family,” Willy Kuo added.

Qvideo also supports Qsync, a useful QTS application that synchronizes files between Qsync-enabled devices/applications and a Turbo NAS. In addition, if users accidently delete files, they can still retrieve them from the “Trash Can” folder, ensuring that their important files never get lost.

Qvideo supports Android devices with version 4.0 and above. To fully enjoy Qvideo, Turbo NAS users must upgrade their firmware to QTS 4.0 (or newer) and install Video Station (version 2.1 or above) from the QTS App Center.

Qvideo is now available for Android on Google Play. For more information on Qvideo and other QNAP products, please visit www.qnap.com.
