Aeneon XTune DDR3 1333MHz Memory

overview

If you are not familiar with Aeneon’s DDR3 modules here is a quick rundown. Aeneon makes two different lines of DDR3, the first is their ‘value’ line which has no heat spreaders and a better price point. But the second series is the one that many of us would choose as it is meant for the overclocker and gamer that wants the most out of their rig. XTune is what this line is called and sports a very clean set of heat spreaders and pretty good timings. For those that are into numbers, how does 8-8-8-15 at just 1.5 volts sound?

Introduction

I get pretty excited when it comes to reviewing memory as it is always a challenge to see how high you can get it to clock. The challenge always includes trying to get higher than the next guy with basically the same setup. DDR3 is now the memory standard for the extremist out there. And with this coming of sort many companies are releasing many different speeds and timing of DDR3 to meet the needs of those who wish to have the best on speed and timings. Qimonda, which maybe known as Aeneon by the enthusiast, has their own for share with us.

What Aeneon has to say about the XTune line

Get ready for the future. Aeneon is proud to introduce new DDR3 DRAM modules for the new wave of DDR3 motherboards. As the next-generation memory technology, DDR3 offers higher performance with low power consumption over the current DDR2 memory standard. With the emergence of increasingly powerful multi-core processors and demanding graphic processors, high speed memory technology is needed to meet the demands for a high-definition computing experience.

With speeds that reach up to 1600 MHz, DDR3 promises to deliver up to twice the bandwidth of current DDR2-800 modules. Combined with a lower voltage of 1.5 V over DDR2’s 1.8 V, DDR3 delivers a compelling solution for energy-efficient computing platforms with reduced heat dissipation as well.

Aeneon offers a complete portfolio of DDR3 DRAM modules with capacities ranging from 512 MB all the way up to 2 GB. With next generation computing platforms on the horizon, step up to a new computing experience with Aeneon and DDR3.
