With the enthusiast community growing so rapidly, and more and more people getting into overclocking, it makes since that there has recently been a huge influx of All in One (AIO) coolers onto the market in the last year or so. Even people who aren’t into overclocking are using AIO coolers, strictly for the aesthetic. With the good looks of an AIO, more often than not, comes good to great performance. There’s also no surprise that Arctic has joined many other companies in having AIO coolers come to market with their branding. As the manufacturer of such great thermal pastes as Arctic Silver-5 and MX-4, it just makes sense that Arctic would also make an all in one cooler as well. However, will their experience in making arguably, some of the best thermal pastes on the market, give them an advantage, or will the Arctic Liquid Freezer 240 be just another AIO cooler on the market providing sub-par cooling? We were able to get our hands on the Liquid Freezer 240 and run it through our suite of tests, let’s see how it did.
Arctic and the Liquid Freezer 240
Ever since 2001, ARCTIC has designed their products not to be the most powerful, but to be the quietest. From 2001 until 2009, they were known as Arctic Cooling and focused on cooling solutions for PC market. In 2010, the became just Arctic. In addition to high performance cooling solutions, they decided to expand into consumer electronics and peripherals. Today, Arctic is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of cooling products and continue to grow. Their philosophy has been the same since 2001, “offering consumers value-for-money, innovations at affordable prices.”On their website, Arctic states “The Liquid Freezer 240 is not just the most powerful AIO Water Cooler in its class but also the quietest.” The Liquid Freezer 240 comes with four low noise 120 mm fans that get mounted in a push/pull configurations radiator provide a great airflow. The first two fans push air through the radiator, the second two fans pull the air through it. Controllable with PST function to adjust the fan speed based on CPU temperature.
