ASUS STRIX RX 580 Gaming OC Edition Graphics Card Review

Packaging & Unboxing

The front of the box has the STRIX RX 580 pictured dominantly in the center.

The STRIX RX 580 comes in the same basic box that all STRIX cards come in. It has the Republic of Gamers logo in the top left-hand corner. In the center of the box is a depiction of the card. Next to the picture of the card is the STRIX logo with the words Gaming Graphics Card just below. The bottom left corner has the ASUS logo and the AURA lighting logo. The bottom right corner has the Radeon logo and RX 580 product branding. There is also a list of a few of the main features of the RX 500 series. These include Freesync support, Vulcan, Chill and DX12 support.

The rear of the box list system requirements and key features of the card.

The rear of the box had a lot of information to take in. Across the top, from left to right, you first see the Radeon logo and RX 580 branding. To the right is the ROG eye logo and the STRIX gaming logo. To the far right on the top, we see mention of a 3-year warranty and the HDMI certification. Below the Radeon logo, there are several pictures. These pictures highlight some of the features of the card. These include their Maxcontact technology, their wing-blade fans, ASUS AURA SYNC, ASUS Fanconnect II, Auto Extreme Technology, and GPU TWEAK II with Xsplit Gamecaster. At the very bottom, there is a diagram of the connections on the card and the product specifications.

The top of the box has the ROG eye logo and the STRIX logo to the left and the Radeon RX 580 branding to the right.

The bottom of the box lists the minimum system requirements in several languages. This is also where you find the model and serial numbers.

Both the left and right sides of the box are the same. The ROG eye logo across the top, the STRIX logo just below and the Radeon RX 580 branding across the bottom.

The inner box has the STRIX logo printed on the top.

Inside, there is a second box with the STRIX logo on the top and on either side of the box. When this box is opened, we find the card wrapped in an anti-static bag and packed in soft foam. If you’ve read any of my reviews, you know I’m a fan of soft foam. It provides excellent protection, doesn’t crack, and can be reused several times over.

The top sheet of soft foam has a cut out for the literature and driver disk.

The STRIX RX 580 and it’s accessories come in anti-static bags and packed in soft foam.
