EVGA CLC 120, 240, 280mm Liquid / Water CPU Cooler RGB Roundup Review
With new CPU chips commonly capable of 5GHz and chips with anywhere up to 18 cores capable of 4.5GHz or more CPU cooling is a whole new ballgame! With the Z170, Z270, Z370 and X399 chipsets on the market and sporting super fast and mega multi-core designs AIO (All In One) water cooling is all the rage and becoming more the norm for enthusiasts and high-end platforms. EVGA is in the water cooling arena and hit it with a 120mm (Single Radiator one 120mm fan), 240mm (Dual Radiator two 120mm Fans), and a 280mm (Dual Radiator two 140mm Fans) and we have all three on the test bench.
We would like to send big thanks to EVGA for sending the EVGA CLC coolers for a review!
For those new at water cooling, CLC stands for Closed Loop CPU Cooler which is a CPU water cooling setup (often called AIO, All in One) that requires zero maintenance. CLC or AIO (both the same thing) have the advantage of being easy to set up and much less expensive than a custom built water cooling loop. The disadvantages are few are upgradable, refillable or repairable. With a 5 year limited warranty, the industry’s best warranty, we don’t foresee any problems with these state of the art CLC water cooling kits from EVGA. If you are an EVGA lover and follow their product you should know EVGA engineers aren’t afraid to over-engineer and over-engineering is highly underrated.
