Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB SSD Review

The packaging is a bit above Kingston’s typical flair. It has a semi-gloss finish and the drive is predominantly featured on the front. The box is made from a hardboard and is hinged.

The back of the package is fairly simplistic. There is some basic information about the drive, but little else.

The drive and accessories are protected by a two level molded foam inserts. Everything fits tightly and is well protected. The drive is located in the top insert.

The bottom insert holds all the accessories. Our particular sample come with the HyperX upgrade bundle, which includes:

  • USB 3.0 enclosure
  • 3.5″ bracket and mounting screws
  • SATA data cable
  • Multi-bit screwdriver
  • 7mm to 9.5mm adapter

1 Some of the listed capacity on a Flash storage device is used for formatting and other functions and thus is not available for data storage. As such, the actual available capacity for data storage is less than what is listed on the products. For more information, go to Kingston’s Flash memory Guide at

2 Based on “out-of-box performance” using a SATA Rev. 3.0 motherboard. Speed may vary due to host hardware, software, and usage. IOMETER Random 4k Random Read/Write is based on 8GB partition.
