A Closer Look

After opening the package we can get a good look at what is included in this kit.

After opening the package, you can find the aluminum casing, a spare screw, and a small screwdriver which has a rather decent grip on it. Also included is a USB 3.0 cable to connect it to your system.

The enclosure comes in a stylish and textured black theme.

On one end you can see the USB 3.0 port, and a little hole for the white LED that indicates the drive is in use.

Installation is done in a few short easy steps.

  1. First you need to remove the screws from the enclosure.
  2. Pull out the logic board.
  3. Secure the mSATA drive to the board.
  4. Seal the enclosure back up.

Here is the board located within the enclosure.

Position the drive in the connector, and line it up for securing it.

Lower the drive, ensuring not to force anything too tightly, until the two clips snap over the top of the drive.

The drive is now installed.

Now all you need to do is slide the drive and the board into the enclosure, and secure the plate with the two screws.

Let’s move on to testing in the next page.
