In the introduction you remember we stated there were two HALE 90 models with one being the V2. Without going into any real technical differences we can state that the original model is not completely modular as the main ATX cable being a permanent fixture.
The new V2 series comes in three high wattage models which would include 850W, 1000W and 1200W. With only these three high-powered units you can clearly say that NZXT is looking to power higher demanding systems with this class.
It is not hard to pick the HALE90 out in a crowd of other power supplies. The bright white is a nice touch as it matches well with the white Switch and Phantom cases or even other color cases that you may want to throw in a touch of white.
The sides of the unit both have black plastic stripes displaying the HALE90 insignia.
It uses a massive 135mm fan to make sure all the internal components remain at optimal temperature. Even being PWM-controlled at high loads the fan remains pretty quiet.
The rear of the PSU has the typical honeycomb opening for warm air to escape. The power connection is of the C19 type so your typical power cable will not work here.
Next, we have the top of the unit which has the specification sticker attached. From the sticker we see this unit has only one 12v rail containing 83A, which is plenty for the highest demanding multi-GPU rig.
The modular connections on the inside of the PSU are 100%. Each type of cable has its own connection to the unit.
