Final Thoughts on the ORICO IV300 Mini Portable External SSD
The ORICO IV300 Mini Portable External SSD performed well across all of the benchmarks performed, averaging 33.1MB/s read speeds and 36.26MB/s write speeds. With GoPros, DSLRs, and drones pushing the limits today with 4K and 8K cameras, fast SSDs like this one are becoming increasingly more important.
I couldn’t end this review without mentioning again that there was a nasty hiccup when I first plugged this device into my Mac. I spent more than half an hour trying to figure out what was wrong before realizing the issue. When I combed over the manual and the online information, there was no indication from the company that this might occur. While it’s forgivable after a quick fix, it’s still worth noting for those who may work solely on Macs or operating systems other than Windows.
Overall the ORICO IV300 Mini Portable External SSD performed exceptionally well and was quite impressive for such a (physically) small SSD. This solid-state drive is an exceptional value coming in at under $53, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a high-quality, high-capacity SSD for their video production kit or high-volume storage needs.
