ATTO Disk Benchmark Test and Results

As the industry’s leading provider of high-performance storage & network connectivity products, ATTO has created a widely-accepted Disk Benchmark freeware utility to help measure storage system performance. As one of the top tools utilized in the industry, Disk Benchmark identifies performance in hard drives, solid state drives, RAID arrays as well as connections to storage. Top drive manufacturers, like Hitachi, build and test every drive using the ATTO Disk Benchmark

Based on the readings, without a doubt the Ignite 480GB M.2 SSD hits the projected speeds, write speeds of 320Mb/s and read speeds of 560Mb/s.

CrystalDiskMark 3.0

CrystalDiskMark is designed to quickly test the performance of your hard drives. Currently, the program allows to measure sequential and random read/write speeds.

Compared with the M.2 Kingston SSD, it may appear a little slower even with both having Phison controllers.

Anvil’s Storage Utilities

Anvil’s Storage Utilities is a powerful tool that was designed in order to provide you with a simple means of assessing the read and writer performance of your Solid State Drive or Hard Disk Drive. The benchmark tool helps you monitor and check the response time of your unit as well as view the system information collected using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).

Anvil’s Storage Utilities Scores

Anvil’s Storage Utilities scores show how SSDs perform in different compression rates. Here you can see the Phison controlled M.2 SSDs having a somewhat similar trend compared to 2.5-inch SSDs with a different controller wherein the scores are seemingly maintained at different compression rates.

System Testing and Performance

PCMark 8 Pro – Storage Benchmark

Use the PCMark 8 Storage benchmark to test the performance of SSDs, HDDs and hybrid drives with traces recorded from Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and a selection of popular games. You can test the system drive or any other recognized storage device, including local external drives. Unlike synthetic storage tests, the PCMark 8 Storage benchmark highlights real-world performance differences between storage devices.

Based on all the tests, the Ignite M.2 has a slower write speed compared to its 2.5-inch form factor counterpart.
