Silicon Power P34A80 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD Review

Packaging & A Closer Look

Silicon Power’s P34A80 drive comes in a small black box with some darker red accenting on it. The capacity and 5-year warranty are prominently displayed on the front next to the clear window that shows the drive.

The rear of the box has some basic information in a myriad of languages.

Inside, the drive is cradled in a clear plastic tray with a clear cover. There are a few cutouts for other products, but no paperwork.

The rive itself is your typical M-key M.2 2280 sized drive. It utilizes up to PCIe 3.0 x4 to connect to the host,

The semi-metallic label covers most of the main side of the drive.

With the label removed, we get a good look at the Phison E12 controller,

 …two Toshiba 64 layer BiCS flash chips…

…and a Hynix 512MB DDR4 DRAM cache.

The back of the drive is also populated for with two additional flash IC’s and another 512MB DDR4 DRAM cache module.
