Testing the UD70 Gen 3×4 2280 NVMe M.2 SSD
All testing was completed using the following hardware:
- Motherboard: ASUS Maximus XII Formula
- CPU: Intel 10th Gen Core i9 10900k
- RAM: Patriot Viper Gaming Viper Steel 64GB 3×32 3200MHz
- AiO Cooler: Silverstone PF360-ARGB
- PSU: Silverstone ST1200-PTS
- OS: Windows 10.
Note: We tested this drive as our main OS drive as we feel that would be a more typical use-case for many gamers. All tests were performed with a fresh install of Windows 10 with minimal data added from the required benchmarking programs.
Crystal Disk Mark (CDM) – An open-source disk drive benchmark tool for Microsoft Windows. Based on Microsoft’s MIT-licensed Diskspd tool, this graphical benchmark is commonly used for testing the performance of solid-state storage. It works by reading and writing through the filesystem in a volume-dependent way.
Anvil Storage Utilities (ASU) – Anvils Storage Utilities is a freeware SSD benchmarking application: Endurance and benchmark testing tool for analyzing the performance of both solid-state and traditional hard disk drives. ASU test throughput as well as IOPS and Disk Access Times. It features a preset SSD benchmark and is also capable of performing endurance testing and threaded I/O read, write, and mixed tests.
ATTO Disk Benchmark (ATTO) – Is a robust hard disk and solid-state storage benchmarking tool. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O, and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. ATTO Disk Benchmark can be used to test any RAID controller, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives, and SSD drives, or another solid-state storage medium that interfaces as a drive in your system.
PC Mark 10 Full System Drive Benchmark – PCMark 10 features a comprehensive set of tests that cover the wide variety of tasks performed in the modern workplace. With a range of performance tests, custom run options, Battery Life Profile, and new Storage benchmarks, PCMark 10 is the complete PC benchmark for the modern office. The Full System Drive Benchmark uses a wide-ranging set of real-world traces from popular applications and common tasks to fully test the performance of the fastest modern drives.
PC Mark 10 Quick System Drive Benchmark – PCMark 10 features a comprehensive set of tests that cover the wide variety of tasks performed in the modern workplace. With a range of performance tests, custom run options, Battery Life Profile, and new Storage benchmarks, PCMark 10 is the complete PC benchmark for the modern office. The Quick System Drive Benchmark is a shorter test with a smaller set of less demanding real-world traces that is designed for smaller system drives that are unable to run the Full System Drive benchmark.
