SilverStone ST1200-PTS PSU Review

Inside the box, you’ll find the PSU, warranty information, and modular cables. The included cables are:

1- 20/24Pin motherboard connector
2- 4+4 pin CPU connectors
8- 6+2 pin PCI-E connectors
8- SATA connectors
6- Molex peripheral connectors
2- Floppy 4 pin connectors

The cables on this power supply are fantastic. I found that routing them through a case was very easy. SilverStone really got it right here. They only thing that would make the cables better, would be custom sleeving. I’m not sure why floppy cables were included though. I haven’t used a floppy drive in more than a decade. Are there still uses for floppy drives? Let us know on our Facebook page.

SilverStone built in a 120mm HYB (Hybrid Ceramic Bearing) fan to keep the internal components cool under load. Dust control is managed by an included fan filter. Better yet, with its magnetic design, it’s easy to remove for regular maintenance and cleaning.

Time for some real world use. I swapped out my power supply for this one. Specs are below.

Custom Built PC

FSP CMT 510 Plus tempered glass case
ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4S
AMD RYZEN 5 3600
ASROCK Radeon RX 5500XT
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600
Kingston KC2500 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
Seagate 2TB magnetic storage drive

Not surprisingly, the SilverStone ST1200-PTS handled my system without the slightest hint of trouble.
