I will be comparing the Strontium Nitro Plus NANO USB 3.0 64GB flash drive with some USB 3.0 flash drives I have which are a Kingston DataTraveler HyperX USB 3.0 64GB flash drive and a Centon DataStick Elite USB 3.0 64GB flash drive. Check out the results below.

ATTO Disk Benchmark

As the industry’s leading provider of high-performance storage & network connectivity products, ATTO has created a widely-accepted Disk Benchmark freeware utility to help measure storage system performance. As one of the top tools utilized in the industry, Disk Benchmark identifies performance in hard drives, solid state drives, RAID arrays as well as connections to storage.

With the ATTO disk benchmark, I got a write speeds of 100 mb/s and read speeds at 122 mb/s which is quite close to the written specifications. The NANO 3.0 sits between the two other USB 3.0 flash drives I’ve tested.

Crystal Disk Mark 64 Bit

CrystalDiskMark is designed to quickly test the performance of your hard drives. Currently, the program allows to measure sequential and random read/write speeds.

With Crystal Disk Mark, figures are a bit different from the ATTO disk benchmark results with only resulting to a lower 75 mb/s write speeds but the read speeds remain the same with 123 mb/s.

File Transfer

While the flash disks behave differently under different benchmarking tools, this is where it all boils down to with an actual file transfer test. The test will determine how long it will take for the flash drives to finish transferring a file folder with a size of 4.33 GB of assorted data.

Again, the Strontium Nitro Plus NANO USB 3.0 64GB flash drive sits in between the other drives but with a reasonable amount of time compared to the Centon flash drive.

Now let’s crunch these numbers and conclude this review on the next page.
