Intel Core i9-9900K CPU

Today Intel releases their new 9th generation Core Processors, an update to the popular Coffee Lake-S Family. Socket LGA 1151 is still retained for this generation and compatibility with all 300 series motherboards including those with the new Z390 chipset. Intel’s mainstream offerings have topped out at 4 cores since the first Consumer quad-core CPU, the Core 2 Quad QX6700 that was released in November 2006. Granted, this was two dual-core dies on an MCM or Multi-Chip Module. The first truly quad-core die was 2 years later in 2008 with the Bloomfield based Core i7-900 series. 9 years later, Intel finally broke the mold with the Core i7-8700K, the first mainstream 6-core CPU. And finally, a year later, Intel brings us the 9th generation family. Today we’ll be taking a closer look at the flagship, the eight-core, sixteen-thread Core i9-9900K.

EK Water Blocks EK-Velocity CPU Water Block

Its been about six years since EK launched their very successful line up of Supremacy water blocks. However, as processors evolve to include more cores and higher TDPs, as too must water blocks. This has led to EK’s new Velocity line up of high-performance CPU water blocks with the 5th iteration of their EK cooling engine. Part of the new Quantum lineup of cooling products, the EK-Velocity block is the CPU oriented piece of a new complete picture with the philosophy that everything in the liquid cooling loop is interconnected.
Velocity is a completely new design both inside and out. There is a new reinforced mounting bracket, which will introduce smaller mounting screws. Like most hardware you can buy in 2018, the EK-Velocity does have an RGB version. The RGB version comes with 24 LEDs which are evenly spaced around the outer edge of the block housing. The RGB blocks will be labeled so and are compatible with all of the more popular RGB lighting software such as ASUS Aura Sync and RGB Fusion just to name a couple.

EKWB EK-Vector RTX Water Block

After more than 5 years of the highly praised and class-leading performance of the CSQ design series, today EKWB is launching the new Quantum family of cooling, starting with the flagship Velocity CPU blocks and Vector GPU blocks. Featuring a newly redesigned cooling engine with a larger footprint for more surface area, the Vector Series blocks allow increased thermal performance. Open Split-Flow cooling engine design which proved to be a superior solution for GPU water blocks. It is characterized by low hydraulic flow restriction, which means that it can be used with weaker water pumps, or pumps running on low-speed settings and still achieve top performance. The jet plate and fin structure geometry have been optimized to provide even flow distribution with minimal losses and optimal performances even when used in reversed water flow scenarios. New design cues feature a minimalistic full cover single-slot solution for an elegant look with a unique aesthetic cover over the connection terminal. Models with RGB embedded offer a touch of customizable lighting that is compatible with all major motherboard lighting solutions for a synchronized and cohesive system theme.

Cooler Master MB530P

More and more, we are starting to see cases that include multiple tempered glass panels. This is usually reserved for cases in the $150+ price range but Cooler Master has extended its MasterBox line to include the MB530P, which sports 3 tempered glass panels for an MSRP of only $109.99. Having so much tempered glass means everything is on show and you must take extra care with your cable management. Thankfully the MB530P has included such features like a full PSU shroud, removable cable cover and silkscreened back panel to help with this. In addition to these cable management features the MB530P also includes lighting with a built in RGB controller and 3 pre-installed 120mm ARGB AB front fans. GeIL Super Luce RGB Sync DDR4 Gaming Memory

Almost three and a half years ago GeIL’s Super Luce memory was one of the first LED-equipped memory modules to do something besides just light up.  The iLuce Thermal-Beaming technology would indicate module temperature by varying the temp of the breathing effect of the lighting. A few years later, most of the world has learned that DDR4 memory just really doesn’t get too hot. So what do you do with all of that lighting? Well in this era, you convert it to RGB and use it for the best gaming aesthetics of course! To really ice the proverbial cake, the RGB lighting effect is controllable from many of the industries RGB control software such as ASUS’s Aura Sync, Gigabyte’s RGB Fusion and MSI’s Mystic Light sync to seamlessly blend into the rest of your perfect gaming system.

ASUS ROG STRIX GEFORCE RTX 2080Ti OC Edition

Nvidia’s Turing powered RTX launch has been a bit different than previous generations. Previously, the flagship card of a new architecture has been the xx80 series card with the lower models coming shortly after, and then after a fairly significant period of time, the xx80Ti series would follow. We also often don’t see non-reference models of a given card come out until several months have passed, R&D does take time after all. With the mold broken, our very first non-reference card is already here, and it just happens to be a 2080Ti model. Without further ado, ASUS’s ROG Strix RTX 2080Ti OC Edition. ASUS’s flagship is already here and we’re going to see how it does.
