In today’s age of content creation and capturing precious moments, we are seeing the traditional camera take a back seat to the new photo king: the mobile phone. Cameras in phones have come a long way in the past 5 years with them only getting better as time goes on. One of the caveats to recording video on your phone is it’s quite hard to get handheld stable video. This has been improved with software but still doesn’t beat a traditional tripod. That’s where Zhiyun’s Smooth-Q2 comes in, with its pocket-sized dimensions and ease of use: it can be brought/used anywhere. Even with its compact size it has an impressive maximum load of 260g which is well above weight of most smartphones. In addition to its strong motors, it features 5 different shooting modes, 13-17 hour battery life, solid aluminum body, and only comes in at an MSRP of $139.
We would like to thank Zhiyun for sending us the Smooth-Q2 to review.
