A Closer Look
Removing the headphones from its packaging we are greeted with the carbon version of this headset. This headset comes in 2 colors, the carbon, and the yellow version. The way to tell them apart is there are colored accents on the wire, earcups, etc. One of the things that were noticed is that this headset is fairly light, which is always a plus, especially for something that goes on your head. Looking at the sides of the HS60 we notice the ear cups. These have a nice metal mesh to let the drivers breathe. In the center of the earcups we see the Corsair logo.
Laying the headset on its back we can see the memory foam ear cups. These are fairly large and give a nice feel to the ear. On the top part of the headset, there is a nice stitched headband. Another premium feature for long use of comfort.
On the left earcup, we have the audio controls. This is a volume scroll wheel as well as a mute microphone button. This is also the earcup with the detachable microphone.
Out of the package, there is no microphone attached to the headset. This is great for shipping purposes. One thing that I thought was cool of Corsair to do was the jack cover had their logo on it.
The microphone is unidirectional and has active noise canceling capabilities.
The HS60 Pro Surround comes with a black braided cable as well as a gold plated 3.5mm audio jack.
One thing I liked as well was the length of the cable on these headphones. Also included was a Corsair Branded cable tie that was attached to the cable for ease of storage.
