Unboxing & A Closer Look
AMD’s Ryzen boxes all look pretty similar, the Ryzen logo takes up most of the front of the box. The bottom right corner carries a single number to denote the family, 3, 7 or in this case, a 5.
The right side of the box has a window that shows the Ryzen 5 2600 in the center of a large red circle.
The rear of the box is a plain dark grey, but the security seal and product label overlap onto it to tell you exactly what model you have.
Inside is another two boxes.
The smaller box holds the CPU and a case badge sticker while the second larger box holds the ‘thermal solution’ or heatsink and fan assembly.
The CPU is inside a clear clamshell with a set of instructions under it.
The clear case protects the pins on the bottom of the CPU.
The Ryzen 5 2600 fits in any Socket AM4 board
1331 pins are about all there is to see on the bottom of the CPU.
AMD’s Ryzen 5 2600 comes with the Wraith Stealth cooler.
The heatsink is entirely aluminum compared to the Wraith Spire that has a copper core. A pre-applied patch of thermal material makes this ready to go out of the box.
The AMD logo resides on the fan hub as well as one edge of the outer ring.
