Final Thoughts & Conclusion
AMD’s Ryzen CPU’s have been wowing us since the very beginning of the 1st generation and AMD has further refined it this generation. We saw performance close to or even better sometimes than CPU’s with a price tag twice as high. With games starting to take advantage of more than one or two cores and the market shifting towards sharing your rounds with viewers on streaming platforms, having 6 cores and 12 threads at your disposal is a great benefit. They’ll also come in handy when playtime is over and you need to get things done if our productivity tests were any indication.
The Ryzen 5 2600 is sitting squarely in the sweet spot for gamers with a street price of $160. Considering you can overclock any Ryzen CPU on any platform, including the very affordable B450 boards, It’s hard to do anything but give the Ryzen 5 2600 a glowing recommendation.
Great job AMD!
