Thermaltake Challenger Prime

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

At the price point this keyboard brings features that are seen in keyboard at four times it’s cost. The keys have a nice smooth throw and the texture adds that little touch to the experience. The lighting is well done on the budget, however the color combo may not be for everyone.

The macro keys and multimedia keys are welcome to a gaming keyboard. As well, the lighting dial is a solid touch. It is the major looking point of the whole thing. Otherwise the modern gaming look is very attractive.

All in all for $29.99 at Amazon this keyboard has a lot of bang for your buck. Membrane keyboards aren’t for everyone, but whether you are a budget gamer, or just love a silent keyboard, this one stands above the crowd. I hope to see more quality keyboards coming down to this price point.

Likes

  • Extremely affordable
  • Variable light intensity directly via hardware control
  • Full featured software at the price point
  • Spill drain holes

Dislikes

  • Non removable wrist rest
  • The purple lighting starts as red at the lowest visible intensity, turning pink, then finally purple about a quarter turn (very minor)
