A Closer Look

Now that we have the VENTUS X unboxed let’s take a look at the beautiful matte black surface. Here is a nice top view of it.

The feature visible from this angle that really jumps out and grabs you is that beautiful honeycomb pattern concealing the battle dragon logo. Let’s take a closer look.

Moving on from that we take a look at the left side of the mouse which sports an ergonomic and tough looking rubber grip. This should be pretty nice for those intense, mouse crunching moments in your favorite FPS. From this angle, you can also see two of the programmable buttons.

Taking a look at the right side we see a matching rubber grip.

Now let’s flip the mouse over and take a look at the bottom. Here we see the 12,000 DPI optical sensor, a nice product sticker, and an interesting plastic cover.

Now if you’re anything like me then that mysterious black panel down there makes you pretty curious, doesn’t it? Let’s take a look under there.

What we find are three small, removable weights that no doubt makes up the “adjustable weight system” marketed on the box. With a little effort, these weights can easily be removed as you can see below. At this time, there doesn’t seem to be the option to order any additional weights from Tt eSPORTS, but we certainly hope they make this an option in the future to make this a truly customizable system. That said, this is a really premium feature for a mid-price range mouse so it’s definitely a very nice addition that sets the VENTUS X apart from the competition. One last note, we found that the weights can be a little tricky to get out. The easiest way is to remove the cover and smack the mouse onto your opened palm, this will loosen the weights so that they can be easily removed without damaging the rubber holder that secures them.
