Final Thoughts & Conclusion
Thermaltake Level 20 RGB has everything you are looking for in a high-end keyboard: genuine Cherry MX switches, solid construction, and tons of RGB. The Level 20 excelled at everything I threw at it and the Speed Silver Cherry MX switches really felt great. The only issue I ran into was the Level 20 is a little larger than your standard keyboard and I had to rearrange a few things to fit it on my desk. For some, this might be a deal breaker, but for me, I just had to move my monitors back a little.
On the software front, Thermaltake’s iTake was extremely easy to use and comes bundled with 14 lighting effects for the Level 20. What is really unique about the software for the Level 20 is the iOS / Android companion application. This allows you to change the lighting effects, use a virtual keyboard or use a virtual gamepad from your mobile device. Of the many included features, I really like the gamepad which is perfect for simple d-pad games.
If you’re a huge fan of RGB peripherals, the Level 20 RGB is guaranteed to please. It has a total of 4 different RGB elements that include illuminated Thermaltake logo, RGB strip in the center of the keyboard, backlit keys, and a lightbar that surrounds the Level 20. Out of these RGB features, the extra-large lightbar was my absolute favorite and looked great once the lights are out.
Overall, I really enjoyed using the Level 20 RGB over the course of the last week and will likely be switching out my Cherry MX Reds for some Speed Silvers for review writing. From writing to gaming or for just looking great on the desk, Thermaltake’s Level 20 RGB Mechanical Keyboard delivers on all fronts.
Great job, Thermaltake.
