System Configuration & Testing

Testing Hardware:

  • Zotac ZBox CI660 Nano
  • Intel Core i7-8550U
  • Samsung 850 Evo 256GB
  • 8GB (2x 4GB) Patriot Signature 2400 MHz

Testing Software:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 Professional
  • CPU-Z
  • AIDA64 Extreme Edition
  • Passmark Performance Test
  • SiSoft Sandra
  • 7-Zip

CPU-Z is a freeware that gathers information on some of the main devices of your system:

  • Processor name and number, codename, process, package, cache levels.
  • Mainboard and chipset.
  • Memory type, size, timings, and module specifications (SPD).
  • Real-time measurement of each core's internal frequency, memory frequency.

Our Zotac ZBOX CI660 Nano Is powered by Intel’s Ultra Low Power Core i7-8550U and tilts the scales at a measly 15W.

Our two sticks of Patriot Signature line memory run at their rated 2400MHz (effective) speed at 17-17-17-39 timings.

As these modules are not designed for overclocking, we are running at JEDEC standard speeds and timings, XMP profiles are not available.

AIDA64 Engineer Edition

“AIDA64 Engineer has a hardware detection engine unrivaled in its class. It provides detailed information about installed software and offers diagnostic functions and support for overclocking. As it is monitoring sensors in real time, it can gather accurate voltage, temperature and fan speed readings, while its diagnostic functions help detect and prevent hardware issues. It also offers a couple of benchmarks for measuring the performance of individual hardware components or the whole system. It is compatible with all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016.”

Considering we are pitting a 15W CPU in a mini-PC against a full-on high-performance desktop CPU, we’re actually quite impressed with the performance Patriot’s memory is showing here.

While this isn't ultra-low latency overclocked gaming memory, we still pull in a little lower latency than some actual gaming kits.

Passmark Performance Test - Memory Mark - Threaded

“Fast, easy to use, PC speed testing and benchmarking. PassMark PerformanceTest ™ allows you to objectively benchmark a PC using a variety of different speed tests and compare the results to other computers.”

Again, we are quite impressed with the performance we are getting out of the system as a whole.

SiSoft Sandra

“SiSoftware Sandra provides a robust package of diagnostic tools for testing your system and teasing out its problems--or potential headaches.”

SiSoft shows a similar pattern with the Signature Line doing quite well fighting against performance oriented memory kits.
