Overclocking

On both systems, The Viper Blackout was tested at the XMP rating of 3600MHz effective speed at 18-19-19-39 timings.

There is only one XMP profile loaded in these modules, but let’s see if we can squeeze a little more out.

We are able to jump up to 3800MHz effective speed without changing much.

AIDA64 shows a jump in overall bandwidth, but no change in latency.

No matter what we tried we just couldn’t get this particular kit stable over the 3800MHz mark, so we went after timings next. CAS-16 came and went with only a slight bump in voltage to 1.375V.

1.40V got us to CAS-15 timings, but we couldn’t get the CAS Latency down any further with voltages we felt safe with. Still, 3800MHz at CAS15 isn’t anything to sneeze at.
