AMD’s latest CPU’s don’t leave a lot of room to overclock with how aggressive XFR and everything is, they CPU already spends much of its time north of the 4GHz mark, but we’ll claw a little more out of it anyway.
We’ll start with ASUS’s own EZ Tuning wizard.
You answer a few questions about how your system is configured.
And you get an estimate of performance increase.
This gives us 4.12GHz on all eight cores and around 2200Mhz memory speed, a significant drop from the 3200MHz XMP rating.
EZ Tune lands us a 4.12 GHz CPU speed but kicks the memory speed down to about 2200MHz.
In the end, our best and 100% stable overclock was 4.175GHz. We did get 4.25GHz bootable, but could not get benchmark stable at this speed.
