Gigabyte X99-Designare EX

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

The Gigabyte X99-Designare EX is one of the more interesting motherboards we have reviewed. It performed above average in most testing. The memory marks seem a bit low, but that is normal with a board that is tuned towards stability. The X99-Designare EX is geared towards content creation, but its gaming performance is top notch as well.

The included software features a great design and is completely relevant to how the board might be used. I cannot think of anything that is amiss here. The hardware features are as long as your arm. Most notable is the dual U.2 connectivity and the ability to run 3-way 16x PCI-E 3.0 even with the 28 lane i7 processors.

It looks beautiful and has the performance to match those looks. Add the RGB LED lighting to that and I think Gigabyte has a winner. All this luxery does not come without a price. The Gigabyte X99-Designare EX can be found at Newegg for $418.99 and also at Amazon. That is stagering to say the least. For those who can use the features and afford it, it is worth the entry price.
