Final Thoughts & Conclusion
There’s one word to describe this Crucial’s P1 NVMe PCIe SSD and that’s “fast”. It performed just as you would expect in all benchmarks with the only little loss of performance in ATTO at the 8MB mark. This is quite common with some controllers and even at 1600 MB/s read you’re not really going to notice much difference when in this scenario. In the looks department, I really like that Crucial opted to go with a black PCB for the P1 line as it looks much better than a green PCB and will likely match most motherboards.
With an MSRP of $109.99 for the 500GB version, $219.99 for the 1000 GB and the 2TB still to be announced, I think the P1 delivers excellent performance for a competitive price. If your motherboard has an M.2 slot and supports NVMe I’d recommend you give Crucial’s P1 line of SSD’s a look.
