A Closer Look

Being an enterprise-targeted product, there isn’t much to show packaging wise, so we’ll skip to the drive. The drive is covered in a white label with the Intel logo taking up a big part of one color. The model and capacity are readily available on the top edge, but there is a ton more information on the label.

When the drive is slotted into a server sled and in operation, you can only see the opposite end from the connectors so Intel places a label on this end as well.

The bottom of the drive’s cast aluminum casing is molded into a large heatsink with crossed channels to take advantage of server airflow in most orientations.

The business end of the drive features a standard U.2 SFF-8639 connector for a full PCIe x4 connection.
