As someone who travels frequently for work, I have grown to appreciate devices that make my life easier while on the road. A few years ago I tested several wireless enabled SD storage devices from Sandisk, and while they were great products, they lacked some features I wanted such as a backup battery, and the ability to function as a wireless access point in hotels that have ethernet connections. Today I am taking a look at a device from Kingston that is said to grant me all of my wishes and more.
A few weeks ago, a package arrived at my home with what appears to be the solution to my issues with mobile wireless storage devices. The MobileLite Wireless G3 is an SD card reader that has several other useful functions such as a built in backup battery that can give your mobile device a much needed boost, as well as the ability to stream music and video to any WiFi connected smartphone, tablet, or computer. Additionally, my cry for a WiFi access point has been fulfilled with the inclusion of a ethernet port that lets you turn any wired network connection into a WiFi access point.
The MobileLite Wireless G3 has a ton of potential to become the next addition to my EDC bag, but will it hold up to my extreme scrutiny? Let's jump into the review and find out!
