Final Thoughts & Conclusion
The ASUS GTX 1060 9 Gbps card is a great card, and absolutely shines at 1080p. It’s small form factor makes it the perfect card for an ITX build or an HTPC. The fans kept the card relatively cool, never going over 70°C. The Patented Wing-Blade fans look great and run very quiet. Even under load, the card hovered around 40-45 decibels. Keep in mind, that’s on an open test bench.
It’s clear this card was designed with 1080p in mind. It dominated 1080p in every game we tested. Many of the games could have easily ran at their max settings. Even 1440 and 3440 x 1440 did very well. All games ran at playable settings, with many running over 60 FPS. 4K resolution even surprised me in a few games, but was nothing to write home about.
At the time of writing this review, this card is sold out everywhere. As are most cards due to the Crypto-Mining craze. Both Newegg and Amazon are out of stock. However, the card usually retails for around $249.99, and even less when it’s on sale. At it’s retail price, this card is a great deal. It’s performance is on par with it’s price, especially at lower resolutions. Its form factor makes it great for the small builds that are so popular these days. With everything this card offers, I’m happy to award the ASUS GTX 1060 9Gbps card the Proclockers “Highly Recommended Award.” What this card does, it does great.
