Packaging & Unboxing
ASUS’s GeForce GTX 1080Ti ROG Poseidon Platinum comes in a typically ROG red and black box. The model takes its usual place in the left center, the ROG eye up top, and the Nvidia stuff in the lower right side.
The rear of the box shows a full-color picture of the card lit up with its signature Infinity Mirror style logo. Video outputs and specifications are along the bottom third of the box, and the cooling system covers the top left side.
The front flap opens up with some Velcro closures to show full-color pictures of the card, and the Poseidon specific features it has.
The long ends of the box don’t have much beyond the Geforce and ROG logos and model, with the exception of the bottom which covers key features and some important specs in several languages.
Both side panels of the box look like this, with only the model and logos visible.
Sliding the colorful outer jacket off, we find a sleek black box with the ASUS logo and slogan in a gold foil.
On closer inspection, the entire box is embossed with the ASUS logo.
Inside, we find the signature sheet of stickers that comes with most ROG branded products now.
Under the sticker sheet, the driver disk and paperwork are in a black envelope embedded in its own pocket.
Under the top foam sheet, the Poseidon GPU rests in its own cutout in the foam and is wrapped in a heavy ESD safe bag. Some accessories sit in their own pocket as well.
All said and done, you get the driver disk, some paperwork, two double-sided Velcro cable wraps, and two dual 6-pin PCIe to 8-pin PCIe adapters.
The card itself is also pretty much entirely wrapped in heavy protective film.
The backplate is no exception here as well. Every port is covered or protected out of the box.
