Packaging & Unboxing
The ASUS TUF Gaming X3 RX 5700 is packaged in a sleek black box with accents of both grey and silver. On the front of the box, we are shown a profile shot of the TUF RX 5700, which has the same black/silver aesthetics as its packaging. Listed on the bottom are some of the features of the RX 5700 which include 8GB of GDDR6 memory, PCIe 4.0 support, member of the TUF Gaming Alliance, built on 7nm technology, Free Sync 2 HDR compatible, and powered by AMD’s RDNA architecture.
Moving to the back of the box, some of the TUF Gaming X3 RX 5700 notable features are listed such as space-grade lubricant on the fan bearings, rigid aluminum protective backplate, and 144-hours of stringent tests to ensure compatibility with the latest games. Also listed in the bottom-left are the system’s requirements which include:
- PCI Express compliant motherboard with one 16x PCIe slot
- 600W or greater power supply
- 8GB of system memory (16 GB recommended)
- 64-bit operating system (Windows 7/10 and Linux supported)
Removing the outer box off reveals an all block box with ASUS etched on the diagonal repeatedly and gold foil writing “ASUS, In Search of Incredible” in the center.
Opening the inner box, the TUF Gaming X3 RX 5700 is packaged within plastic wrapping and insulated with a cardboard sleeve.
After removing the cardboard sleeve, we can see that the RX 5700 isn’t secured by your normal foam but instead stored in a cardboard device. This is quite nice to see since cardboard is much better for the environment. We would like to see other companies follow suit.
By following the instructions on one of the flaps, we were able to easily remove the TUF Gaming X3 RX 5700 from its packaging and also found a quick start guide in the process.
